First and foremost, I am a mother.  Those of you mothers out there know the inuendos behind that phrase…..for those of you who are not yet mothers or may never be mothers, or don’t have the capacity to become a mother (read:men), I will explain.  I cannot help but wonder who exactly I was for the 23 years of my life before my daughter was a part of my world.  I say this because…..everything that “used” to matter somehow fades away when you become a mother…and suddenly your instincts to look out for yourself turn into an almost animalistic need to nuture your young.  All of a sudden my wants and needs meant so little….and hers so much.  It’s very humbling, becoming a mother. And, ironically, at the same time, I’ve never wanted so much to make “something” of myself. 

I am a hard worker, an honest and loyal friend, free spirited at times, laden with worry at others, talkative, animated, opinionated (working on the open-mindedness, I swear!)confident, sensitive, and complicated. 

I love animals, especially dogs, and although I adore my own daughter, I am not magnetically drawn to other children.  I can appreciate their laughter and innocence, but I have come to realize that I am not someone who “just loves kids”. 

I love to read, but I have a hard time finding time for that in my schedule anymore.  I love to dance, listen to music, learn new things and have stimulating conversation.

Prince is my favorite musician.  It’s just short of an obsession, really. 

I care about other people.  I hate to see others hurting, and I despise violence.  I can barely stomach watching violence in movies, and I am also sort of prudish in the sense that I cannot stand sex scenes, either. 

I love (foreign) cars, and also houses….I just love to look at homes, real estate and interior design books and magazines.   

Racism, bigotry, hatred and prejudice are my enemies. 

The lack of respect, or interest in general for other cultures in the United States sickens me. 

The word religious is a broad generalization, so I will just say that God is an integral part of my life, and I respect and would love to learn about other religions as a whole.

I guess you could say I am not Patriotic.  I see mankind as a whole, and I think that “boundaries” that divide us into countries, states, or whatever….are ridiculous.  We’re ALL human beings!!
